Public Beaches
Stroll on miles one of the world's best sandy beaches, most of them protected by coral reefs. The sea with its sparkling blue-green colouring and its year round warm water offers much pleasure to bathers.

MARACAS BAY |
This is one of the most popular beaches on the island. It lies on the North Coast and is accessed via
a very winding and scenic drive through the Northern Range mountains by the Saddle Road through
Maraval. It can also be accessed through the Saddle Road from San Juan . Again the drive here is
quite scenic .
The beach at Maracas is approximately 1850 metres long . The sand is clean and white and the
waters are an azure sparkling blue. New facilities have recently been built for the convenience and
comfort of tourists . There are well maintained changing facilities, food vendor stalls and adequate
parking. There are also trained lifeguards on duty at the lifeguard station situated there.

LAS CUEVAS BAY |
This beach lies further along the North Coast Road . The water is good and there are many rocky
caves along the beach. It is very popular among surfers and wind surfers. There are service facilities
in the immediate vicinity which include a car park, changing facilities with showers and toilets,
tables, benches and a snack bar. There are also lifeguard facilities present here.

MACQUERIPE BEACH |
This beach lies at the end of the Tucker Valley Road. It is about 100 metres long and the water quality
here is beautiful. New tourist facilities have just been constructed here and all modern conveniences
have been installed. There is adequate parking and changing facilities with showers and toilets.

MANZANILLA BEACH |
Manzanilla Bay is located along the East Coast and is accessed through Sangre Grande along the
Manzanilla - Mayaro Road. There are tourist facilities situated here with all conveniences. There are
changing rooms, showers, toilet facilities, snack bars, picnic tables etc. The landscape scenery is
beautiful and there are miles of coconut olantation lining this beach. The drive is approximately 1 1/2
hours from Port of Spain.

MAYARO BEACH |
Mayaro Beach is the longest beach in Trinidad. It is approximately 16km long. This approximates
some 10 miles. It is accessed by the Mayaro - Guayaguayare Road . The beach is lined with coconut
palms and small inlet lagoons. There are many guesthouses and small hotels available here and
there are many vacation properties available for rental. It is about 2 hours drive from Port of Spain.

SALYBIA BAY |
This Bay is situated in the North East Sector of Trinidad. The scenery here is beautiful especially
where the Salybia River flows into the sea so that bathers can experience both a wonderful river bath
and also a sea bath. It is about a 1 1/2 hour drive from Port of Spain.

BALANDRA BAY |
Balandra Bay is also situated on the North Eastern coast of Trinidad . The water here is also of fine
quality and the scenery marvellous. It is also about a 1 1/2 hour drive from Port of Spain. Private
vacation houses are available here for rental. In the turtle nesting season the famous leatherback
turtles can be observed here nesting their eggs at night.
